A perpetual licence, in plain language.
These terms govern the purchase and use of Spokenroom. Where a sentence below could be read two ways, the reading more favourable to you is the one we intend.
1. The licence
On purchase you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to install and use Spokenroom on up to two computers that you control. The licence is personal to you or your practice and may not be resold or shared. You may move it between machines by deactivating one.
2. Updates
The purchase price includes all updates released during the twelve months after purchase. After that, the version you have continues to work indefinitely. You may optionally renew update access for $29 per year. We will never disable a licence for choosing not to renew.
3. Trial
The seven-day trial includes every feature and requires no payment details or account. At the end of the trial the software stops generating new transcripts and notes until a licence is entered; your existing files remain yours and readable.
4. Refunds
Early-bird reservations are refundable in full at any time until release. Purchases are refundable for 30 days. See refunds.
5. What the software is, and is not
Spokenroom is a documentation tool. It produces draft transcripts and notes for your review. It does not provide clinical, legal or professional advice, does not assess risk, and does not replace your professional judgement. You are responsible for reviewing every output before it is relied upon or entered into a record, and for complying with the recording-consent and record-keeping rules that apply to you.
6. Acceptable use
You may not reverse-engineer the licensing mechanism, redistribute the software or its bundled models, or use the software to record people without the consent required by law.
7. Revocation
A licence may be revoked only in the event of a refund, a chargeback, or a demonstrated breach of section 6. Revocation never deletes your files.
8. Warranty and liability
The software is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties and limit our aggregate liability to the amount you paid. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
9. Payment processing
Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, who is the seller of record for tax purposes and whose terms apply to the payment transaction itself.
10. Who we are
Spokenroom is operated by an independent developer. The operator's registered name, address and governing law will be published here before any purchase can be made. Questions: [email protected].
